What drew you to be a HALTER Jockey?
I wanted to be a HALTER Jockey because in my brief time in Spartanburg, HALTER and its students have already made such an impact on me. I love coming on Saturday mornings and getting to catch up with our awesome riders. In the past, I have helped fundraise for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and it helped me connect to the cause on a deeper level. I want to do the same with HALTER!
Tell us a little bit about yourself...
I am a first-year medical student at VCOM here in Spartanburg, SC so I have only lived in the area since last July. I found HALTER in October, and it has been a regular activity since then! I graduated from the University of Mississippi last May and I also got married. Although medical school is a strenous task, I still have time to do some of my favorite activities like hiking, disc golf with my husband, watching Survivor and reading.
EVERY child who participates at HALTER depends on the generosity of our donors, because the fees that are charged to individuals only cover 11% of the expenses.
