Why did you want to become a jockey?*
Our whole family loves HALTER! Not only does each rider benefit from equine therapy, but the organization brings together local community for a common cause and contributes to national research projects that enhance knowledge and opportunities beyond Spartanburg.
Tell us about yourself (ie what do you do, how did you find out about HALTER)*
I’m the Director of Alumni Relations at Converse University and learned about HALTER during my as an undergrad at Converse. A few years ago, while researching new places to live as a family, I was excited to see that HALTER continues to serve children, and now we are so grateful that our daughter Eloise can personally benefit from the team here.
Is there a fun fact you would like to share?*
As a kid, I once willingly let a horse bite my finger, because it was fun to do that with parrots at the local pet shop. I don’t recommend it!
Who is your horse, and why did you choose him?*
My daughter rides Max every Saturday morning, and our whole family has enjoyed getting to know him. Ever since Eloise first stepped into the arena, Max has been there—a kind and reliable companion.
